How to Use Magic Edit

Magic Edit lets you instantly rewrite or refine any generated document using AI. You can adjust tone, add details, shorten or expand sections, and request specific clinical improvements, all without manually rewriting your note.

Updated today

1. Open Magic Edit

Inside the Note Editor, click the Magic Edit button in the top-right corner of your document. This opens the Magic Edit modal.

2. Enter Your Instructions

In the text box, describe how you want the AI to adjust your document.

Examples include:

  • “Shorten the Subjective section by 30%.”

  • “Clarify treatment goals in the Plan paragraph.”

  • “Add medical necessity language to the Assessment.”

  • “Expand on the client’s response to interventions.”

You can enter up to 4,000 characters of instructions.

3. Apply the Edit

Click Magic Edit to regenerate the document with your changes.

Your original note is preserved until you approve the update, so you can compare the results safely.

4. Edit Limit

You can use Magic Edit five times per document. This ensures edits stay high-quality and lets you refine the note progressively. If you need major restructuring beyond that, you can manually edit the note or create a custom template for future sessions.

5. Make the Change Permanent (Optional)

If you want the same improvements applied automatically to future notes, click: Create Custom Template →

This does not change the current document, but future notes generated with that template will include your custom changes.
