Finalizing a Note

Finalizing a note marks your documentation as complete. It locks the session details, updates the client’s history, and triggers AI Recommendations for linked clients.

Updated today

1. Requirements Before Finalizing

You can only finalize a note if:

  • A client is linked

  • The note has been generated

  • You have the appropriate permissions in your organization

If no client is linked, the Finalize button does not appear.

2. How to Finalize

Inside the Note Editor, in the top-right corner of your document tabs, click: Finalize

AutoNotes will confirm the action and save the note as completed.

3. What Finalizing Does

When you finalize:

  • The note is locked as clinically complete

  • The session is added to the client’s timeline

  • AI Recommendations generate based on session content

  • Documentation becomes ready for billing, supervision, or export

Finalization improves accuracy across future sessions by informing the client's profile.

4. Editing After Finalizing

You can amend a note after finalizing. Amending is useful if you've made a mistake or forgotten to include something, and need to edit the document before signing it again.

Amending a document means:

  • It can be edited again.

  • It will not be used as context for future documents generated for the client.

  • AI-generated content for the client will not incorporate information from this document.

5. Where Finalized Notes Are Stored

You can access finalized documentation:

  • Inside the client’s profile

  • On the session page
