Linking Clients to a Session

Linking a client allows AutoNotes to carry over context from previous sessions, generate AI recommendations, store documentation in the client’s history, and unlock the ability to Finalize your note. If no client is linked, you can still generate a note.

1. When You Can Link a Client

You can link a client in two places:

A) Before Generating a Note

On the summary page (Type or Dictate flow), look to the right sidebar.

You’ll see: Link Client(s) and Fill in manually

Choose:

  • Link Client(s) to select an existing client

  • Fill in manually to enter client details only for this session (not saved to profile)

B) When Generating Without a Client

If you click Generate Documents without linking anyone, AutoNotes will show:

Generate without a client?

You can choose:

  • Continue Anyway (note will generate but cannot be finalized)

  • Add Client (recommended)

2. Benefits of Linking Clients

When you link a client:

  • The session is saved to their timeline

  • AI Recommendations become available after finalizing

  • Comprehensive client overview is created after each session to measure progress and treatment plan adherence

  • Future sessions auto-fill key details

  • You can track progress across notes

  • Activating a client treatment plan allows AutoNotes to target goals and objectives in the session notes

  • You unlock the Finalize button

3. Client Panel in the Note Editor

Once linked, the client appears in the right sidebar with:

  • Name, status, age

  • AI Recommendations (once note is finalized)

  • Additional insights as the client’s history grows

4. Editing or Changing the Linked Client

You can update or remove the client link before finalizing.

After finalization, changes may be restricted depending on your organization/practice settings.
