AutoNotes Trust & Compliance

Updated over 3 weeks ago

PHI in AutoNotes

You can use PHI in the AutoNotes app once a BAA is signed. Our public website is for general information only—please don’t share PHI there.

Security, in plain terms

We encrypt data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access is protected with SSO/MFA, we follow least-privilege permissions, and we maintain audit logs.

How AI is handled

When AI features are used, we minimize or de-identify PHI before any external processing. Approved subprocessors are contractually limited to service delivery only.

Where your data lives

Customer data is hosted in the United States.

Your records.
By default, AutoNotes does not retain your generated documents. If you turn on Document Storage, we securely store notes under the client record with audit trails and signatures. If Document Storage is off, documents are not stored by AutoNotes.
